We celebrated Grandparents Day tonight with my parents, sisters, Donna and Carol, and their family. Randy and I cooked a special meal with some of my parents favorite foods. I even made a pie from scratch! There is a first for everything. My parents live nearby so my children have a close relationship with them. The boys have lots of special memories from their home. My mother helped care for the boys when they were infants after I went back to work from maternity leave. She is the best substitute I could ever hope for to love my children. I get my worry gene from her so we totally get each other. I find it so important for my kids to have a relationship with their grandparents. There is something about their wisdom that a child can learn from.
